A TAXI firm carried out a fundraising drive for a cancer support centre.

Aqua Cars donated £3,000 to the Macmillan Information and Support Centre, in Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.

David Campbell and Bob McDonald from Aqua Cars agreed with their team to donate money to a cancer charity because of the number of people affected by the condition in their team, and clients who use the service.

The company raised the cash by inviting drivers and staff to contribute £1 or £2 for a variety of items such as Christmas price lists.

David said: ‘The care, support and advice offered by staff and volunteers to people using the centre is clear to see.

‘It’s a warm and friendly place where all are made welcome and receive the support that’s right for them when they need it.’

The centre in QA helps those suffering from cancer.

Centre manager Sinead Parry said: ‘We are extremely grateful to Aqua Cars for all the hard work that went into raising such a significant donation.

‘We are constantly striving to improve the environment for the people who use the centre and the donation will support us to do this.

‘Our charitable funds support the complementary therapy and counselling service.’
