SOCIAL care workers from across the independent and private sector were praised for going the extra mile during the West Sussex annual care awards.
Sponsored by West Sussex County Council, the awards were organised by the West Sussex Forum Training Board.
They showcased best practice and recognised the work done by the social care sector throughout the year by highlighting the work of high performing individuals.
The winners were Mathew Devassy, Lorraine Ede, Martha Pusey, Sarah Mack, John Carlyle, Andrew Brown, and Gemma Fielder.
The excellence award was given to Sussex Grange.
The awards ceremony took place at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Arundel.
Councillor Amanda Rogers, who is in charge of adult services in West Sussex, said: ‘These eight winners represent some of the very best care givers in the independent sector.’
