AROUND 300 people enjoyed a carol service that was raising money for a cancer charity.

The Wessex Cancer Trust Inaugural Christmas Carol Concert took place at Portsmouth Cathedral, in High Street, Old Portsmouth.

The Wessex Cancer Choir Quay of Sea Voices, the Rock Choir and The HMS Nelson Royal Naval Volunteer Band and Drum Corps, all provided entertainment.

More than £1,000 was raised, which will go towards funding a rehabilitation centre, for people suffering from cancer, held in the Mountbatten Centre.
