A CELEBRATION breakfast was held to mark 20 years of a leisure centre.

More than 30 customers, staff and invited guests attended the event at Waterlooville Leisure Centre where a cake was cut.

Havant Borough Council Honorary Aldermen Ken and Penny Moss were presented with a commemorative photograph of the leisure centre for championing the build of the centre in 1991.

And Marie Wilkinson was given a commemorative photograph of the leisure centre for outstanding contribution as centre manager since 1991. A certificate of achievement and free lifetime swim membership was presented to Judith Malinson who was the first swimmer to use the pool when it opened in 1991 and is still swimming at the centre.

Horizon Leisure Centre’s chief executive Howard Broad said: ‘Over the past 20 years the centre has hosted approximately 10 million visits proving just what a valuable community leisure facility it is.’
