A FREE event is being held for older people to help ease worries of retirement.

Portsmouth City Council is working with Envisage to support over-50s and help them understand what preparations they might need for later life.

Information will be available looking at travel and food costs, available benefits, keeping healthy and pensions.

Envisage’s head of workshop delivery Peter Goodall said: ‘We want to equip people to better meet the challenges that later life may bring.

‘This event explores what opportunities there might be for a more positive and fulfilled later life and will help give individuals a real sense of hope and confidence for their future. It is never too late or too early to start thinking about these things.’

The event is on September 3 at Portsmouth Central Library from 9.30am until 6pm.
