PEOPLE passionate about healthy eating are being sought to run You Can Cook sessions in Portsmouth.

A free course will be held on May 12 and 13 at the Learning Place in North End for people who want to sign up to the city council scheme.

Training will cover risk assessments, teaching styles, healthy eating information, recipes and more.

Once the training is completed and the ‘champions’ have completed a hygiene certificate they will be able to run their own cookery sessions.

Volunteers are expected to give at least 10 hours or run one You Can Cook course.

A spokesman said: ‘You don’t need any experience just a passion for food and meeting new people.
