Have your say

BUDDING film-makers are invited to create a short movie to encourage people to become organ donors.

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has launched a competition, urging people to pass on their organ donation wishes to family and friends.

The contest – organ donation through a lens – will focus on the importance of having donor conversations with friends and families.

Sally Johnson, NHSBT’s director of organ donation and transplantation, said: ‘After the success of last year’s competition, we are really looking forward to seeing more powerful, moving films.

‘This year, the focus is on telling loved ones about your donation wishes.

‘We want these films to help everyone, individuals and families, to be proud to say yes to organ donation, when asked.

‘We want everyone to be proud of our donation record in the UK. The first step is having a conversation with your loved ones about your wishes.’
