CHARITIES, voluntary groups and social enterprises have the chance to win £500, simply by signing up to a database.

Not-for-profit support group Action Portsmouth, formerly known as Community Action in Portsmouth, is putting the database together to provide a picture of all voluntary activity happening in Portsmouth.

Project manager Hollie Rapp said one group would win the money for taking part.

She said: ‘The information we are collecting will enable us to signpost people to groups and make sure Action Portsmouth can reach those groups with information about funding and other types of support available.

‘We need to find out what groups and organisations are out there, who they support, and where they do it.’

The Ordnance Survey will use the database to create an interactive map of volunteer groups in the region.

The deadline for entries is tomorrow.
