ELDERLY people suffering from dementia in Portsmouth can get help from two organisations that have teamed up with a charity.

Age UK Portsmouth is working with The National Development Team for Inclusion and Innovations in Dementia.

Together they have created group Circles of Support.

The aim is to work directly with people who have dementia and their families and provide support for them.

Dianne Sherlock, chief executive of Age UK Portsmouth said: ‘When people develop dementia they often find their networks getting smaller, with families and friends being unsure about how they could help.

‘As a result many people with dementia can miss out on opportunities for support and advice and become isolated.

‘We’re really excited to be working on this project and feel it will help us to discover how we can support people with dementia to live well.’
