A CENTRAL hub sharing information on diabetes is due to be pioneered by Queen Alexandra Hospital.

The Cosham hospital has been working with Diabetes NHS and together they have created a hub to encourage professionals across the country to share information to improve treatment nationally.

It is due to launch this month and has been developed by diabetes consultant Partha Kar.

He said: ‘The hub will serve as a great tool and will see professionals collaborating on innovations, ideas, research and treatment to improve knowledge and understanding of diabetes.

‘It will no longer matter where you are based as a practitioner, you will have access to the same information and know of developments earlier, ensuring best practice on behalf of patients.

‘At a time when we are all trying to achieve more for less, it is crucial innovation is shared and spread across the NHS.’
