STUDENTS at Portsmouth College will learn about the dangers of drink as part of alcohol awareness week.

The Safer Portsmouth Partnership is holding the event to make young people more aware of the impact alcohol can have on their lives.

On Wednesday, students at the college in Tangier Road, Copnor, will hear talks from people who were alcohol dependant and how they recovered.

Ann Bartlett, the mother of marine engineer Kyle Bartlett, who was killed in 2009 during a night out in Portsmouth, will also be there to promote the One Punch Can Kill campaign.

She will talk to students about the death of her son.

A specialist alcohol worker from Portsmouth City Council’s Health Improvement Development Services will offer advice to the students and promote services available in the city which can help.
