AN AMBULANCE service is reminding people to keep safe and well over the Easter period.

South Central Ambulance Service is advising people to only call 999 over the extended weekend for a serious or life-threatening emergency.

Mark Ainsworth, operations director, said: ‘The Easter holidays always prove to be a particularly busy time for us and we’d encourage everyone to use us appropriately and only use 999 and A and E in a genuine emergency situation.

‘Choosing the right place to go for NHS treatment can save you time and get you the right level of care first time around.’
