A PROJECT to help parents with young children in Portsmouth has been nominated for a national award.

The Families Moving Forward Project, funded by the Big Lottery, is run by Learning Links.

It offers families help where the eldest child is aged between five and 10 years old, with things like debt advice and counselling, support with children’s behaviour, parenting, play and routines,

The scheme has been short-listed in the Family Support category, in the Children and Young People Now awards.

Project manager Clare Roach said: ‘The project is seeing real, sustainable, positive changes for families in the city and I’m delighted the team’s work has been recognised by being short-listed.’

The results will be announced on Thursday.
