AFTER suffering a stroke, patient Fred Clark wants to thank a team of nurses who he calls ‘angels.’
The 69-year-old was admitted to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham in May last year, where he stayed for about 13 weeks.
And to say thank you, Mr Clark has nominated three nurses in the Best of Health Awards 2013.
Katherine Pink, Samantha Jordan and Laura Deer have all been put forward in the Hospital Nurse of the Year category.
Mr Clark said: ‘I cannot praise enough the doctors, nurses and staff at QA for the precious care I received during my long stay.
‘In my eyes they are all angels, and God bless you all, for the care and attention you gave.’
During his stay, Mr Clark said the nurses were very attentive to his needs and he never felt alone.
Staff nurse Kathy Pink said: ‘I felt shocked and humbled that Fred thought so much of the care I have given to him that he nominated me for Hospital Nurse of the Year – it is beyond words.
‘I can’t wait to find out if I’ve been short-listed – it’s very exciting.’
