A FREE event is hoping to reduce the number of people who suffer falls and broken bones.

The Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Osteoporosis Support Group and Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust are linking up for another series of Love Your Bones events.

Themes at the Havant event include lifestyle advice, and information on osteoporosis, healthy eating and diet, falls and falling. The conference will help raise awareness of osteoporosis, a condition that causes bones to weaken.

Margo Berry, chairman of the group, said: ‘We work very closely with the rheumatology department at Queen Alexandra Hospital and obviously share the same ethos – to work to try to reduce the number of falls and fractures. This is the 10th mini Love Your Bones Day we have organised.’

It is being held from 9.45am until 4.30pm on October 26 at the Portsdown Community Church at the Meridian Centre.
