PEOPLE in Bognor Regis and Chichester can take advantage of a free health assessment this month.

Health advisers are offering NHS Health Checks, which focus on preventing major causes of illness, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease.

These conditions are often avoidable and may be easily managed – and a health check could help to identify any potential issues before a problem develops.

The 30-minute appointment will include a blood pressure check as well as a finger-prick blood and cholesterol test and a discussion about family history.

The checks, which are confidential, must be booked in advance and are available for anyone between 40 and 74 without an existing long-term condition.

In Bognor Regis, the sessions take place in the Wellbeing Annexe – attached to the town hall – on Tuesday.

Westgate Leisure Centre will host the Chichester checks on January 16.
