PEOPLE concerned about their lung health can have a free routine respiratory test.

Those having one will also be given advice by Breathe Easy Portsmouth, which is part of the British Lung Foundation.

The group will be inside the B&Q store in Fratton, Portsmouth, from 10am to 4pm, on June 18.

A test will be offered to anyone who may be experiencing ongoing symptoms, such as breathlessness, wheezing or a smoker’s cough.

The event has been organised in support of Breathe Easy Week, which this year is dedicated to breathlessness and early diagnosis.

Breathe Easy Portsmouth chairman Eric Compton said: ‘It’s completely normal to feel breathless every now and then after exercise or heavy physical activity that you may not be used to.

‘But if you experience breathlessness while sitting, then this could be a cause for concern.

‘If it is occurring more frequently it could be sign of a lung condition.’
