STAFF from Affinion International have raised money for Cancer Research UK to honour the memory of a colleague lost to the disease.

The Affinion team organised a family fun day at Moneyfields Sports and Social Club, in Moneyfield Avenue, Copnor, in memory of colleague Sue Hirst, who died in 2009 from cancer.

Michelle Waites, team leader at Affinion, said: ‘When we lost Sue it was quite a large blow.

‘Cancer has affected many of the staff here, so a lot of them pitched in for the fun day.

The fun day raised £2,100 and featured bouncy castles, live music, children’s games and a Taekwondo demonstration.

‘This year went so well that we are talking about doing something even bigger next summer,’ added Michelle.
