THE UK’s leading diabetes charity is appealing to people across the county to put on their walking shoes to help raise vital funds.

Diabetes UK has organised a charity walk at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, across the South Downs, next month to mark Diabetes Week 2011.

Walkers can chose between a long woodland trail of five miles, or a shorter one of two miles.

Penny January, regional fundraising manger for Diabetes UK South East, said: ‘The walk is a great event to get all the family together while raising money for Diabetes UK. Your support will greatly help to improve the lives of 52,220 people living with diabetes across Hampshire.’

The walk takes place on Sunday, June 19, between 10am and 4pm. To register call 01372 731 362 or email
