A FITNESS class for children based on a top television show is being piloted at a leisure centre.

Youngsters who love Sportacus, from the BBC’s LazyTown show, will love the free trial session at Havant Leisure Centre next week.

Children aged three to eight years can take part in an energetic workshop focusing on building endurance, strength, group skills and co-ordination.

If it is a success it may become a permanent addition to the leisure centre’s weekly timetable.

Ministers want to use the programme to help tackle obesity by encouraging children to eat less junk food and run around outside, rather than play video games.

The session will be held on March 24, 4pm to 4.30pm, in Civic Centre Road, and run by a LazyTown Sports Club trainer. Places are limited, so you must book your child’s place. Call (023) 9247 6026. Children must wear suitable sports clothing and trainers.
