A NEWLY-FORMED trust is on its way to becoming the main commissioner of healthcare for Fareham and Gosport.

In a newsletter from Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group (F&G CCG), the panel informs people it is on track to become a stand-alone CCG.

It will replace NHS Hampshire, the primary care trust (PCT) that is the current commissioner for the area.

Following a visit from the National Commissioning Board earlier this month, F&G CCG chairman David Chilvers said: ‘We have managed to go through the first stage of the authorisation process and have already managed to satisfy about 90 per cent of the 116 key indicators.

‘We are on track for being fully authorised to take over from the PCT in April, although that is the beginning of our journey rather than the end.’

Dr David Chilvers took over from Dr Koyih Tan as chairman in September this year.

Dr Chilvers added: ‘I would like to give my sincere thanks for all your ongoing support at this time.’
