Groups to benefit from cash thanks to Healthwatch Hampshire

SIX groups have benefitted from grants to help boost their mental health services.

Healthwatch Hampshire has awarded £2,500 to community groups in the county, with the funding going towards projects to improve feedback and access for mental health services.

The feedback collected will be used to improve outcomes for communities.

Successful projects include National Autistic Society, Helping Hooves, Demential Action Group and the Hampshire Cultural Trust.

Steve Manley, manager at Healthwatch Hampshire, said: ‘These community grants allow citizens to develop their own voice and, with our support, share their work, findings, recommendations and innovative projects with local commissioners and providers.

‘We recognise the power of using skills, experience and existing networks of our communities throughout the county to harness their participation and involvement in health and social care related services.’

Healthwatch Hampshire is an independent organisation which gathers people’s views on health services across the county.
