IT’S time to get your dancing shoes on and raise money for a hospice.

The Dance-a-thon for The Rowans Hospice is back for a third year and takes place at Portsmouth Guildhall.

This six-hour dance marathon takes place on Saturday, February 21, from 6pm to midnight, and features six different dance styles.

It’s open to anyone over the age of 16, dancers of all abilities are invited to take part in this sponsored event and raise money for the Purbrook hospice. Each dance style is taught by an expert so no previous experience is necessary.

This year people can have a go at the lindy hop, disco, line dancing, Cuban salsa, musicals and bokwa.

Sophie Gunner, events fundraiser for The Rowans, said: ‘This is a great fun-filled challenge so pull on your lycra and legwarmers and join in.

‘We have six fabulous dance teachers and a fantastic party soundtrack to dance the night away. If you want to enter as a team, you can tag in and out or challenge your team to complete the whole six hours.’

It costs £10 per person to register and a medal is given after the event.

To register, email fundraising@rowanshospice.co.uk or call (023) 9223 7142.
