PEOPLE across Fareham and Gosport are being invited to find out more about a £3.8bn national fund to provide improved care for patients.

A public seminar about the Better Care Fund has been organised by the Fareham and Gosport Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) – the GP-led organisation responsible for planning and buying most of the health services in the two boroughs.

It is being held at 1pm in Ferneham Hall, Fareham, and will be followed from 2pm to 5pm by the CCG’s governing body meeting.

The public is welcome to attend both or either meetings.

The £3.8bn fund is part of the government’s drive to provide better efficiencies and support the integration of health and social care services locally.

The fund does not come into full effect until 2015/16, but areas must develop a plan by this March that will set out how the pooled funding will be used and the ways in which national and local targets attached to performance-related monies will be set and met.
