HEALTH services in Hampshire would not be affected if an NHS trust lost a contract in another county.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust provides community and mental health services in both Hampshire and Oxfordshire.

Commissioners in Oxfordshire are reviewing learning disability services – but this does not affect Hampshire as the counties have separate contracts.

Lesley Munro, divisional director for learning disability services for the trust, said: ‘We are working with Oxfordshire County Council and the clinical commissioning group to support a review of learning disability services ahead of our current contract expiring in December 2015.

‘This process is a natural part of contracting, and allows time for proper consultation with all relevant parties so that the most effective service can be developed for service users, their carers and families. Any decisions around the future provider have not been taken.
