A HOSPITAL group which has a centre in Havant has won an award for the second year running.

Spire Healthcare was named Hospital Group of the Year for a consecutive year at the HealthInvestor Awards last week.

The event, run by trade publication, HealthInvestor, is one of the main highlights in the health sector calendar and is always very well attended by many important bodies.

The competition was fierce, with award submissions up by 20 per cent on last year.

Despite this, Spire managed to pip six other organisations to the top spot.

‘This is a great credit to all the hospital teams, their commitment to quality of clinical care, new technology and innovation,’ said Louise Sullivan, hospital director at Spire Portsmouth Hospital in Havant.

‘Our desire to do what’s best for the patient has truly paid off, and this has been recognised by the healthcare industry.’

Journalist and news presenter Jeremy Vine presented the awards, which were judged by a panel of independent judges.

Spire Healthcare has 39 hospitals and 13 clinics across the UK.
