PORTSMOUTH Hospitals NHS Trust will showcase its groundbreaking research work at a sell-out conference.

The Research Conference will give healthcare professionals and academic researchers the chance to hear from leading researchers about their work, research findings and the benefits these may have for patients.

About 150 people are expected to attend the event, which will focus on ways to use innovation to inspire better patient care.

Attendees will hear talks from key note speakers including Dr Susan Hamer, organisational and workforce development director at the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network, and minister for universities and science and Havant MP David Willetts.

Professor Anoop Chauhan, the trust’s director of research, said: ‘We are delighted to be hosting this event and the fact that it became oversubscribed in just a few weeks of us announcing it is testament to how important research is.

‘This conference will provide us with an opportunity to showcase a number of our leading researchers and the importance of research.’

The event will be held at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard tomorrow.
