Hospital trust put forward for two national awards

TWO schemes run by a Portsmouth hospital trust have been put forward for a national award.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, has been shortlisted for two awards at the 32nd annual Health Service Journal Awards for work efficiency and improving patient safety.

Mandy Mugridge and Jan Scott, head of patient services clinical support, were nominated in the Efficiency in Information Technology category, for implementing the online appointment cancellation tool.

The trust has also been nominated for outsourcing NHS professionals in order to improve its workforce efficiency and improve patient safety.

The HSJ Awards 2013 remains open for entries until July 1. The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, September 25, at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.
