A MASSIVE deep clean is underway at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.

As part of the project beds are being steam cleaned after patients are discharged in a bid to prevent transformation of infections such as MRSA and c-diff.

Around 1,200 beds have already had the treatment in the last three weeks.

The hospital is the first in the south to trial the pilot scheme.
