MORE than £2,300 was raised by a church through the sale of knitted chicks.

The congregation of St John’s the Evangelist Church in Upper St Michael’s Grove, Fareham, has raised £2323.57 for the Meningitis Research Foundation charity.

Organiser Laura-Jayne Vince said: ‘We decided to support Meningitis Research Foundation because one of the members of the church has a relative who contracted meningitis.

‘Amy kindly came to the church to collect the money that we raised, and it was amazing for the congregation to meet her; she really is an inspiration to us all.’
