AN AIR ambulance charity will benefit from the fundraising efforts of a Portsmouth business.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) has been chosen as Charity of the Year 2013 by mystery shopping company Douglas Stafford.
The company supported the charity with a series of fundraising events throughout 2012, and a cheque for £1,000 was presented at the end of the year.
John Perry, chief executive of the HIOWAA, said: ‘We really appreciate all the support we receive from companies in Hampshire and it’s brilliant to have local businesses raising money and awareness for the charity.’
HIOWAA needs to raise £4,000 a day, in order to run the service.
The charity receives no government funding and relies upon donations.
