UNWANTED gifts can be converted into money for an air ambulance charity.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) is working with recycling partners Bag It Up and is asking people to donate unwanted gifts or outgrown garments.
This can include unwanted or outgrown clothing, shoes and other textiles, which can be sold to bring in cash for the air ambulance charity.
People are being asked to bag up their unwanted goods, which includes worn shoes and repairable garments, and then drop them off in the yellow air ambulance textile banks.
John Perry, chief executive of the HIOWAA, said: ‘The majority of the textile donations we receive at this time of year have come from wardrobe clear-outs.
‘With clothing banks at recycling sites across our region, there are plenty of places for people to take last season’s garments and put them to a worthwhile cause.’
The charity needs £125,000 each month to keep the service flying and saving lives.
