HOSPITAL staff have thanked a group of Pompey players for visiting children and adults who face the possibility of spending Christmas in hospital.
As reported in The News on Saturday, Portsmouth Football Club went to the paediatric department and medicine for older people, stroke and rehabilitation units at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
Club manager Guy Whittingham and four of his players stopped and had a chat with families and wished everyone at the wards a happy Christmas.
The players also handed out signed posters and autographs.
Paul Morgan, head of fundraising for the hospital, said: ‘Christmas is an important time of year to be around family. Unfortunately some of our patients will be spending this Christmas in hospital. A big thank you to Guy and the players for giving up their time and sharing a little festive cheer across the hospital.’
