A CENTRE to help children and young people deal with bereavement is set to open in Portsmouth.
Simon Says is a Hampshire charity which launched in 2002, and offers support to children and young people who have the suffered the loss of a close relative or friend.
Support groups are available for children and young people, up to the age of 18.
The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Councillor Frank Jonas will officially open the Portsmouth service of Simon Says at The Northern Parade Children’s Centre, in Doyle Avenue, Hilsea.
Victoria Hussey, director of bereavement services at the charity, said: ‘I’m delighted children and their families in Portsmouth and surrounding areas will now be able to benefit from the support Simon Says can offer them through their bereavement.
‘It is a difficult time for all, but especially for children who may not understand what is going on.’
The opening takes place on Thursday, March 14, from 4pm to 6pm.
