Choir raises hundreds for hearing difficulties charity at annual concert
CASH Solent Singers with the cheque
THIS singing group hit the right note with a children’s charity by raising £650 for them.
The Solent Singers choir from Warsash raised the money for The Elizabeth Foundation, which supports infants and pre-school children with hearing difficulties.
Each year the choir picks a different charity to support and this time it decided to pick the foundation, which is based in Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
Money was raised with a carol concert at St Mary’s Church, in Warsash, and the United Reformed Church, in Sarisbury Green.
Alison Robinson, fundraising officer, said ‘This is a huge donation and greatly appreciated by us all.
‘We have to work hard to raise funds, so it was a real treat for us to be selected as the choir’s chosen charity.
‘We plan to use the money to enhance our daily music sessions at lunchtime.’
