A DEMENTIA open morning is taking place to support those with the condition and their carers.
Age Concern Hampshire is supporting The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Awareness Week Initiative, which starts on Sunday, May 18, with the morning at the Kershaw Day Centre, in Wynton Way, Fareham.
It takes place on Friday, May 23, and will include a Dementia Friends session.
This offers an insight into what it is like to live with dementia and how people can help to better understand the condition in everyday situations.
Age Concern Hampshire dementia lead Kym Devine said: ‘We are committed to supporting people across Hampshire with dementia.
‘We believe it’s possible to live well with dementia and we encourage carers and the wider community to get involved through initiatives like Dementia Friends.
‘We encourage this as it will help improve patients’ lives and make them feel valued and supported.’
