WHILE some of us were busy tucking into Easter eggs, others were getting fit in Fareham.

A fitness and wellbeing event called Beauty Inside and Out took over West Street for the second year running.

Activities took place all day, including strength displays from one of the World’s strongest men, Rob Frampton.

Rob, 39, from Titchfield, was at the event to promote his gym Strength-Tec, Lysses Path, Fareham.

He said: ‘We were giving demos to show people that you don’t need to be afraid of strength training. When shown correctly, it’s quite easy to take on.’

Exhibitions took place through the day.

Curves women’s gym from West Street kicked off the day.

Fran Noble, owner of Fareham and Gosport Curves, said: ‘Our instructors were first up to perform with a Gangnam Style aerobics display.

‘There was a great atmosphere with a lot of participation.

‘We wanted to show that there is something for everybody. Fitness doesn’t have to be about weights.’

Other displays came from Zheng Dao Lo Martial Arts Academy, Ashcroft Arts Centre’s ‘mini movers’ class, Nasira Belly Dance and the Synchronize Crew gave a street dance performance.

Fareham Town Centre manager Patricia Gray said: ‘It was great fun, people enjoyed themselves participating in the activities and there were some brilliant performances.’
