Fundraising day to help two sisters buy trikes

A FUNDRAISING day is being held to raise £3,000 to buy specialist trikes for two disabled sisters.

Friends, neighbours and members of the wider community are rallying round to prepare for the day in aid of six-year-old Aimee Lloyd, who has cerebral palsy, and her sister, 11-year-old Shannon, who has a development disorder called Williams syndrome.

The girls’ mum Charlie, 31, said: ‘The trikes cost £1,500 each but they will allow them to go out and play with their friends. At the moment they just sit and watch.’

Friend Suzanne Clifton, 38, from Fareham, said all the neighbours are busy preparing. Ms Clifton said: ‘There will be bouncy castles, cakes, nail art, drinks, biscuit decorating, the whole works. They will be shutting off the whole cul-de-sac and filling it with fundraising activities.’

The day takes place from midday to 4pm on Saturday at Carnegie Close, Lee-on-the-Solent. For more, search ‘Get sisters going’ on Facebook or e-mail charlie5252@hotmail.com. To donate go to justgiving.com/getsistersgoing
