A RUGBY club tackled the issue of health and fitness by holding an open day at its ground.

Portsmouth Rugby Club held the free event on Saturday with the aim of promoting the sport and encouraging activity for people all ages. Those who went along to the fun day in Norway Road, Hilsea, had the chance to go on an inflatable obstacle course.

They also tried their hand at tag rugby, tossing the boot and spinning the ball through the tyre.

And there was also a tombola, a hog roast, face painting and cake stalls.

Visitors were also treated to live rugby, as they watched three senior rugby teams play matches on the day.
