Hampshire’s air ambulance handed funding boost

AN AIR ambulance charity has been given a £5,000 grant to help run the service.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service has been awarded the money by the Santander Foundation.

A member of staff from the firm nominated the charity following the loss of one their colleagues, Justine Emblin-Butler who, along with her boyfriend Ben, had been in a car accident which had been attended by the air ambulance.

He only survived the incident, thanks to the air ambulance.

John Perry, chief executive of the air ambulance
charity, said: ‘We are enormously grateful to the Santander Foundation for giving us access to this generous grant.

‘We receive no government funding for operations, relying entirely on the generosity of the people and businesses of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to keep the air ambulance flying and saving lives.’
