MEDICAL images will now be easily transferable between hospitals in Hampshire, after an IT company has been awarded a contract.
Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Queen Alexandra Hospital, is part of a consortium with other health trusts along the south coast.
The consortium has awarded the IT and medical technology company Sectra a contract for the next seven years.
Having the same system means medical imaging examinations can be transferred from one NHS organisation to another that is in the consortium.
Other bodies include Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
