Let the celebrations begin...
The Blake quartet cut the Rainbow Centre's 21st birthday cake, helped by service director Magdi Kovacs
THE 21st birthday celebrations of a centre for children with cerebral palsy have started in style.
Staff from the Rainbow Centre in Fareham were treated to a special night out at the Kings Theatre in Southsea to celebrate the centre’s milestone anniversary.
They watched Blake – a classical vocal quartet – perform and dedicate songs to the centre, and then were treated to a special cake- cutting after the show.
Sandra Smith, publicity officer at the Kings Theatre, said: ‘The Rainbow Centre are coming of age and so we wanted to help them celebrate.
‘We hope they had an enjoyable time and we’ll be looking to support them anyway we can this year. They are such a worthy cause.’
The centre offers support to children with cerebral palsy and their families, from across the area.
Julie Woodward, community and events fundraiser at the centre, said: ‘This year is a big one for us. The celebration at the Kings was the first of many.
‘We had a fantastic night and Blake were great. We really appreciated them supporting us.
‘We now have all kinds of fundraisers and celebrations to look forward to for the rest of the year.’
