Lift Premier League trophy for Sam

APPEAL Sam John

APPEAL Sam John

FOOTBALL fans have the chance of holding the Premier League trophy to help raise cash for Sam’s Mission.

As previously reported, Sam John, 16, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour when he was nine.

Tests from earlier this month shows the tumour is growing.

A treatment called proton beam therapy is available in America, which would stop the tumour from growing any further.

But the John family, of Albert Road, Fareham, are waiting to see if the NHS can pay for the therapy, which will cost at least £100,000 for a 10-week stay at a hospital in Florida.

So the family have launched a massive fundraising drive to ensure Sam, a pupil at Neville Lovett School, gets to the US.

And to help, the school in St Anne’s Grove, Fareham, has managed to secure the Barclays Premier League trophy.

Now students and local football teams are being invited to visit the school on Monday afternoon to have their picture taken with the sporting trophy.

People are being requested to donate a minimum of £5, which will go towards Sam’s Mission.

The trophy will be at the school from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

To attend, call Helen Whale, the school’s marketing and communications officer, on 01329 318003, and then select option four.

Donations can be made online through the Paypal account admin@thinkingshrinking.co.uk
