New cancer information service for Portsmouth residents
A NEW information service for cancer sufferers in Portsmouth has been launched at local libraries.
Portsmouth City Council has teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support to try to improve cancer information for people in the city.
Their new project will offer free access to help and resources for anyone affected by cancer, including families and carers.
A Macmillan information station has been installed in the foyer of Portsmouth Central library, and will operate a drop-in service every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm, and every Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
Materials will also be made available at each library.
Suzanne Phillips, Macmillan library project officer said: ‘This joint project provides a great opportunity for the library service to ensure that quality cancer-related information is made more accessible to local people.’
