New member elected for GP-led health trust

A COPNOR GP has been appointed to the trust that will control Portsmouth’s health budget.

Following an election of GPs city-wide, Dr Linda Collie, a partner at the Baffins Surgery, in Hayling Avenue, Copnor, will fill the vacancy on the Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) governing body.

She said: ‘I’m committed to ensuring good quality healthcare for all patients in Portsmouth and, as a GP spending time listening to patients concerns, I appreciate the significant difference this can make to people’s lives.’

She becomes one of the five GPs on the governing body.

The CCG formally goes live April 1, replacing NHS Portsmouth, the city’s soon-to-be abolished primary care trust, as the main commissioner of health services for Portsmouth.
