SCORES of people visited a mobile cancer service which toured the area last week.
The mobile team of Macmillan specialists offered support and information about cancer, helping people during their visit. Thirty people stopped off in Waterlooville, 77 in Gosport, 56 in Fareham, 61 in Portsmouth and 39 in Havant.
Amanda Cummins, from Macmillan, said: ‘We have visited Hampshire many times during our tours so far and we have always had a great reception. We were really pleased to see so many people on the mobile service whilst back here again. There were a wide variety of queries from financial issues to medical questions and support needs and we also had a lot of queries about fundraising which were much appreciated.’
Figures show 6,500 people within the Hampshire PCT will receive a cancer diagnosis every year.
