Store’s donation station for charity

SHOPPERS are being urged to help cancer patients by donating unwanted goods during trips to the supermarket.

Sainsbury’s in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, is running a donation station for Cancer Research UK, where shoppers can donate unwanted clothes and homeware.

The bags of goods will then be sold in its charity shops.

Irene Hillier, from Sainsbury’s in Portsmouth, said: ‘We’re delighted to be hosting the donation station. I know that the people of Portsmouth will pull together and make a generous donation to this very worthy cause.’

Items that can be donated include clothing, accessories, homeware, books, CDs, DVDs and mobile phones.

Jessica Garman from Cancer Research UK, said: ‘We’d like to thank Sainsbury’s Portsmouth for the support. We hope people will take advantage of this easy way to donate and have a clear out, whilst lending their support to a great cause.’

Donations can be made at the store tomorrow and on Saturday.

The donation station will be in the car park.
