PATIENTS in the children’s wards at Queen Alexandra Hospital were treated to some storytelling fun.

Starlight Storytellers stopped off at QA to act out classics such as the Princess and the Pea, Charlotte’s Web and Three Little Pigs.

Among the patients was five-year-old Brayden Renault, who was admitted with pneumonia.

His nan Sue said: ‘Brayden was admitted with pneumonia and he was in for quite a few days, so the panto has been a great boost for him.

‘A hospital can be a boring place for a child so I think it’s fantastic that shows like this visit hospitals.

‘Brayden clearly loved it as he was shouting at the actors throughout telling them they got the story wrong, it was just lovely to see his bubbly personality resurface.’

The group travels the country cheering up children.

Member Matt Smith said: ‘We love nothing more then putting on a performance for the unwell children and their parents as it gives the parents just as much a boost as it does the children. The children at QA were very vocal with lots of laughter.’
