Top Portsmouth doctor named president

A PORTSMOUTH consultant who specialises in mouth and neck surgery has been crowned as the youngest president of an association.

Professor Peter Brennan is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham.

He has been elected as the president of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS).

Although he will not take up the post until 2016, Professor Brennan currently sits on the council of the speciality association and has the responsibility of organising a national conference, which is why the presidents are elected so far in advance.

He said: ‘I’m looking forward to when I serve my term as the president of the BAOMS.

‘To be elected is an amazing feeling, especially as this is a national vote from up to 500 voting members. I was overwhelmed to hear the result.’
