INDUSTRY experts have applauded a pharmacy campaign started in Portsmouth by crowning it winner at a prestigious awards ceremony.
NHS Portsmouth created the Healthy Living Pharmacy scheme, which launched a new model of a wellbeing service in pharmacy.
The project has been so successful it is now being rolled out by pharmacies in other regions.
And it has also scooped an award at the Wessex branch of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations ceremony.
Janet Bowhill, pharmacy lead for NHS Portsmouth said: ‘We’re always delighted to have our achievements recognised by leading organisations.
‘We’re very pleased with the success of the scheme.
‘It’s thanks to the commitment of pharmacy staff across the city that the public are able to benefit from a range of excellent services, and the communications campaign has helped people find out what is available to them to help them make improvements to their lifestyle.’
The judging panel said: ‘This campaign demonstrated what you can achieve by taking a very well-integrated approach to communications.
‘The programme delivered fantastic return on investment, as well as raising awareness.
‘An evaluation baseline set up at the start of the campaign ensured the team was able to measure very effectively the success of activities undertaken.’
